Steampunk Rings by CatherinetteRings and Music by VanVolt

Stay tuned and be the first when it comes out , VanVolt music : http://www.facebook.com/VanVoltmusic Website : http://www.etsy.com/shop/CatherinetteRings Follow me on Facebook :http://www.facebook.com/SteampunkJewellery Daniel Proulx was born in Montreal and spent a considerable time traveling the world before returning to his artistic roots, becoming an independent artist in 2008. He has found great inspiration in the steam era and now makes Steampunk jewelry with metal wire, gemstones, vintage clock parts and other unusual components. He loves creating organic shapes from wire and developing intricate designs with a mechanical/industrial feel. When Daniel was little he used to daydream about fantastic imaginary worlds. He would draw monsters, invent stories about magical items, or role-play with friends. Now he brings his art to life with stories from a distant parallel Steampunk universe. the STORY

Fantasticks Steam Punked by Warren Francke If the steampunk concept draws you to The Fantasticks at the Omaha Community Playhouse, well and good. It’s interesting and appealing. But it shouldn’t overshadow the more surprising accomplishment of director Carl Beck and his cast. They’ve given us far and away the best treatment of this record-setting 52-year-old musical that I’ve ever seen. And that includes some very good productions, a half dozen of them, going back to the 1960s at the Blackstone Hotel, an earlier Playhouse show, Chanticleer, you name it. Most recently, the University of Nebraska at Omaha gave it some fresh twists but it left me wondering if the long-running creation of Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt had lost its charm. Not so. Not at all. It’s always best in an intimate space, so … Read entire article »

John Mayer’s New Album Cover Looks Hugo-esque

A true daydream believer has passed on. This morning, Davy Jones, beloved lead singer of The Monkees and 60s teen icon, died of a heart attack in Florida. According to his rep, who confirmed the news, the medical examiner’s office for Martin County, Florida received a call from Martin Memorial Hospital informing them that the 66-year-old performer had died early this morning. Gone too soon. He was a sweet man. Our thoughts go out to his family, friends and fans who will surely miss him. Steampunk NERF Rifle: A Staple of 19th Century Tomfoolery

February 29th, 2012 by: Lambert Varias Tweet Pin It deviantART member vanbangerburger put together this trinket-filled steampunk weapon using a NERF rifle, some acrylic and spray paint and then attached “pretty much whatever” he could find to it. I’m disappointed that he didn’t find a cat. The brass paint, gauges and pipes are great touches, but otherwise I think this project still needs some work. There’s still too much of the original rifle peeking out. But that’s just me, and anyway I’m sure vanbangerburger can still tweak or build on his design if he wanted to. Like maybe make it shoot steam. Or punks. Or steamy punks. Check out vanbangerburger’s deviantART page for the high-res images, including ones featuring the goggles that are included in a couple … Read entire article »

Cancelled ‘Gotham By Gaslight’ Gameplay Video Stars Steampunk Batman

The past few years in the superhero/comic book genre of games have seen some major breakthroughs, with the most critical and financial success coming to Batman. So it’s no surprise to hear that in 2009, a game adaptation of the DC Comics one-shot Gotham By Gaslight was being tentatively pitched around the industry. Thanks to a recently uncovered video of prototype gameplay and animation, fans can see how faithfully the game was sticking to the source material. We first heard of the project’s existence when a batch of concept artwork showed how the 19th-century Gotham City of the comicmight have looked if the game had become a reality. The steampunk-inspired combination of clockwork machinery and traditional Bat-gadgets would have accompanied Bruce Wayne on his quest to track down Jack the Ripper, … Read entire article »
