Um Elizabeths Schreien nachzugehen, müssen wir immer noch die Tür im Erdgeschoss öffnen. Der Schalter dafür findet sich auch schon ganz in der Nähe. Nach ein paar kleineren Scharmützeln und einem mittlerem Herzinfarkt können wir nun also auch in den abgesperrten Bereich gelangen. Dort wartet auch schon jemand auf uns, der uns die Augen öffnet, in welcher Zeit wir uns befinden und was passiert ist. Mit diesem Wissen werden wir nun zurück in die Vergangenheit geschickt mit dem Ziel die Katastrophe abzuwenden.

Avalanche steampunk sandbox project on hold

Just Cause developer Avalanche Studios hopes to one one day make a steampunk sandbox game.

Speaking to Edge, chief creative officer Christofer Sundberg explained an interesting image he posted to Instagram recently.

“They were from a steampunk-style game we had in development that we put on ice,” he said.

“I really love that art style, and to combine it with sandbox gameplay is a dream of mine. Fortunately, being an independent developer I can control my own destiny and we’ll make something in that world sooner or later.”

So much for hope that we were looking at Just Cause 3. As for what the team is actually working on, Sundberg said we’ll have to wait a while longer to find out.

“We are developing for both current and next-gen, but the earliest we’ll be able to talk about it and go into any detail is after the games we are working on are announced,” he said.

“We’re also announcing new, interesting tech development that we do internally, but that is not until later this year.”

Although Avalanche Studios hasn’t released a console games since 2001′s Renegade Ops, it is responsible for an online sim called The Hunter. It is believed to be working on the next Just Cause and a Mad Max game. Hopefully we won’t have to wait much longer for more information.

We’re gonna party like it’s 1899! Vegan chef and food history geek Emily Zimmerman is back with her unique take on Victoria Day: a 5-course Victorian-inspired dinner party, re-imagined as a creative and delightful vegan feast.

The Victorian English dinner party was a riot of conspicuous consumption; extant menus show a parade of complicated, expensive meat dishes, elaborate desserts, and finicky sides. It was a way to show off a family’s income, their cook’s skills, and their savvy about fashionable dishes.

Even today, when most people think of a dinner party they think of dressing up, following the rules, and letting their hosts show off. Of course, at the Dep, (and in many of our homes) a dinner party is more about sharing time with friends, building a community of like-minded folks, and enjoying a great meal.

So here’s a bit of both: a vegan version of a meal that a late-Victorian household might have with their nearest and dearest. Not a parade of finicky delicacies, but a series of delightful dishes inspired by 19th century recipes, including some rarely prepared today.
